# Agent tools: replies say what happened

2026-09-15 | improved | agents | https://www.gatlas.ai/changelog/2026-09-15-agent-tools-say-what-they-did

Your agent's tools report what a sync or a prompt run did, and when a dataset last refreshed.

Tools of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the way your agent connects to Gatlas, report what they did. `trigger_sync` names the sync it queued, including when only an incremental one was allowed. `run_transform_prompt` says when repeated failures paused a prompt's schedule, and how to resume it. `describe_view` prints a dataset's last refresh status and any error. Company tags read as names, not IDs. `describe_view` works on every connection; `run_transform_prompt` needs a Read/write one, and `trigger_sync` a connection allowed to manage syncs.
