# An owner can hand the organization to someone else

Make owner hands your organization to another member, and anyone but the owner can leave on their own.

As the owner, choose Make owner on a member under Settings, Members to hand the organization to them, and you step down to principal. Anyone but the owner can leave an organization on their own with Leave organization under Settings, General, so nobody has to ask to be removed. An owner hands over ownership before leaving.
