# Artifacts: table columns read as words

Table headers in artifacts read as words, and your agent can label and format each column.

Every table in an artifact now shows its headers as words: `month_start` reads "Month start". Your agent can also give a column its own label and format, such as a number with two decimals or a month, in the table's `format` when it calls `create_component` or `edit_artifact` over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the way your agent connects to Gatlas. It needs a Read/write connection.
